August 26th 2017

SS and Church at OCC this past weekend went something like this:

So thankful for people who say Yes when asked to help.  Sharing a mission story from India with us.

Animals, animals, Jesus made the animals... great big animals, little tiny animals, animals, animals, Jesus made the animals, here is an animal that I know.... sssssssssssssssssss.
Kids have sung this song in SS for at least 30 years. Still a good one.

Story time.

Pastor Jim tells a story about going canoeing.  Oh, all the troubles he had on that journey!!!

Thank you for your wonderful, thoughtful song you sang for our service.

Sharing her testimony.  Tears in more eyes then a couple.  Thank you so much for sharing.

Pastor Jim closes with a song by words and music.

Someone has a different and beautiful display of flowers each week.  We all enjoy seeing them so much. Thank you very much.

prayer please ~ August 24th 2017

Today about 1:30 p.m. a wild fire broke out along Highway 33 and soon made it evident that people would have to be evacuated along with their pets and other animals.

The Highway closed and many people used the McCullough Road to get to Kelowna.

Please pray for our church friends and families as they either are at home watching the fire closely or have evacuated for now.  Pray also for each family as they are dealing with this sudden calamity.

Please remember all of the fire fighters too as it is hard, exacting work.

Thank you all so much.

July 22nd

Beverly told the children's story at OCC this day and sent in a couple of photos to go with the story.

Can you remember the story she told?

How would you enjoy waking up to see such beautiful animals in your yard?

Thank you, Beverly.

Sabbath, August 12th, 2017

Here is a little look at this past weekend at OCC.

It is always nice to see this room full of happy children along with a happy teacher.

The song was about ?   Do you know?  Can you figure it out?  The children sure do enjoy the little puppets that go along with the larger ones.

Little visitor to OCC.  She came all the way from Waterloo, Ontario.  I think she liked seeing the animals and the songs too.

Her face is just right for the skunk song.

Sitting with Grama at the organ for a little bit.

Pat was able to read a poem of hers again this Sabbath.  It is so nice she is able to come to church again.

Our lovely group of young missionaries this year.  It was good to be able to chat with some of them during fellowship meal.

camp meeting at Hope 2017 Reach Out Part 1

Reach Out was the Theme of Hope Camp Meeting 2017

There was an unfortunate change of plans with David Ashcherick having to go back to Australia ( he was already in the USA on his way to camp Hope) but thankfully Wesley Torres, the BC conference president, made some calls and soon ( on Wed before camp meeting) Lowell Cooper was able to come and fill in with his sermons on the first weekend.

There was a lot of great music and interesting reports and ADRA Sabbath School presentations.

The children's meeting buildings were full of helpful adults (Shannon and Cherri Gerber were two of them) and many many delighted children and parents.

The week was very warm but we did not have any fires or major problems on campus so we thank God for that.

Here are a few photos to have a little look into camp meeting if you were not able to make it this year.

Dr Logan - from Andrew's University - played the organ for Friday evening and Sabbath service.   His improvising skills are quite amazing.

Seth and friend - watching a special baptism... brother, Levi's.

Levi, ready for his baptism at Lake of the Woods.

Family and good friends.

Dr Joe Wheeler helps at the ABC Sunday sale by giving a short report of a book.

Charles A is back from Africa for a short time.  It was good to see him again and he said his family was there too.

Special Music singer.
