Walter W

Just to let you know that my dad, Walter Wecker, moved into a care home a few weeks ago.

After his stroke he is doing really quite well but needs help with a few things like walking, which used to be such a strong part of his daily life, is now difficult for him - like the balance part.

While waiting to get a place in Sun Pointe he has a room at Spring Valley Care Home on Ziprick and they are taking good care of him.

He misses many things but is trying his best to accept things as they are.

Walter has enjoyed the many visits from you, his close friends and the items you bring him to cheer him.

He will miss Rich's visits so much once he moves away.

Thank you Rich for being so faithful to visit him at his home, in rehab and now at Spring Valley.  Bonnie and Doug have visited him often too as well as Lori and the Pastor and maybe some I have no idea of your visits.

Dad has a land line and a cell phone and tries to answer the calls as they come in.

If you would like his number please message me to get it.

Last week some cedars along Ziprick seemed to have been set on fire and it ruined the power poles etc so the phone rang busy for a few days but it is fixed now and all is well.

Sure am thankful for my dad and the way he keeps on going through all that comes to him.

Thank you for all of your prayers for him and care for him.

Sabbath at OCC - August 13th, 2022

After lesson class led by Alex, the praise group had the singing time.

That was followed by an illustration with a Biblical application by Dave.

Next, Jerrie Lou told the Children's Story, about a canoe camping trip and a clever solution to bears.

After children's offering & regular offering, Jonathan & Alison and their daughters sang for "Oh How I Love Jesus" for special music.

Tammy and Leah had a nice class for the children during the church service, complete with a felt board lesson story that the children really enjoyed.

Thanks for taking some of these photos Alison G.

Doyle did the scripture and prayer before the pastor spoke. Then Pastor Josue had the sermon about the power of Christ in our lives.

After church, we had a lovely picnic-style potluck meal downstairs in the fellowship room. So nice to visit with each other!

Liza made the beautiful centerpiece bouquets with flowers from her garden! They were sent home with various families after potluck to bring beauty to their homes in the coming week.

After potluck it was nice to look over at the pond area and spot some nature surprises there before leaving the church.

July 2nd 2022 at OCC

Karen and her helper Grandson Hudson made the song service enjoyable.

Todd played a beautiful piece on his guitar.
Then Jerrie Lou had scripture and prayer before the sermon

"Shoes" was the title for this Sabbath worship talk.

GQ shared some thoughts, Bible verses and stories, illustrations etc about Shoes in the Bible.

Moses asked to take off his shoes, the priests in the temple taking off their shoes and the Father asking for shoes to be brought for his son when he came back home are some of the stories.

Camden, Lauren and Hudson helped show how wearing the right size of shoe can be a big help when trying to get through a little obstacle course.

Several people brought their favourite pair of shoes and told us why.

Doug brought his favourite pair to tell about for the children's story.

The Bible verse was about shoes and the owing song was " Do You Know Oh Christian You're A Sermon in Shoes" led by Alison and her two young daughters.

Thank you to all who helped make this an informative and interesting talk.

Camera photos to come later.

Happy Sabbath wherever you are this morning.
