Sabbath Before Christmas

It was a joyous service with the lesson and a Christmas program.

Lori wrote and directed the play and asked the participants to take their parts.

Three sisters owned a music store. ( Loretta, Shirley and Jerrie Lou)

A customer came to get her son a Christmas gift of a blue guitar.

Another person in the store at the time played a little tune on the guitar for the interested lady to be able to hear what it sounded like.

A pastor had the Opening Prayer ...David was his name.

It was good to have a children's story by Cherri and a special song taught to the children and adults by Shannon.

Later three grandsons of one of the sisters looked up Bible verses then came and read them for Scripture.

This sister just smiled and enjoyed it all. Music, children, story and the play.

Different special music's were shared and very much enjoyed.

Sharon sang so beautifully.

Kim and Joel looked so happy sharing their talents in the play.

This new Pastor David shares a lovely Christmas talk with all the people listening and coming into the music store...

It is all going to work out for the best... the niece and her husband will take over the music store and look after it but the sisters can come and help out whenever they want too.  The sisters are thrilled.
The program ends with a beautiful signing song by Tammy.

Pathfinder Sabbath December 2 2023

Lori took the front of the church for  having the lesson study. It is always so good to have people there for this part of the service.

Lori has really done well at getting facilitators  for each Sabbath.   Each week someone takes a turn and each person has their own style.

Mission to the Powerful  was this week's study.

In marched the Pathfinder Club and then repeated the Pathfinder Pledge.

Praise Time saw some young people blending their voices in the songs.

First song was called "Ten Thousand Reasons"

Pianist and Pathfinder leader... Ester and Cindy

She helped the Pathfinders with the Bible Experience... learning the book of John from the Bible.

They all enjoyed the puppet show.

Jonathan played a violin solo for offertory.

Amen.
Wonderful morning.

November 2023

A visit with Gay Mentes gave me this great blog post idea.

She showed me a photo of her friends helping to finish the knots on a special blanket made for a sick friend.

It is such a lovely photo.

These friends are from all walks of faith or even no faith.  Gay feels a real connection with them as they pray  for the certain person with a specific health issue and work together on tying the edges this gift of love.

Gay's grandchildren helped tie the edges into knots and prayed for Jody  their Dad's Auntie.
Jody says she really liked the blanket as she gets cold often and it is nice to sit on or wrap up in.
A love blanketing her.

This young man used to come to OCC years ago and when his little baby was born early they share this cosy blanket.

When I had a very sick daughter Gay made a blue blanket for her and then later gave this nice one to me.

Have you been blessed with a prayer blanket??
Send in a picture of you and the blanket .
Thank you for being Jesus hands and feet in this mission, Gay.
