This Sabbath at OCC - June 25th 2016

It was a great Sabbath at OCC.

Sabbath School started with song service with Don leading the singing and Diane and Aase playing piano and organ.  What a lovely way to enter the sanctuary by hearing the nice music.

Bob Rogers agreed to come and tell us about the China Mission Trip that the Rutland Youth group went on during Spring Break.  Adults went along and they enjoyed their time sharing with the students at two schools.
Each person gave their personal testimony and made friends with the students.

Bob tell us stories about the China Mission Trip.  Thank you so much, Bob.

A little thank you for coming to OCC.

Does anyone know what the lesson was for the Children's Sabbath School?  Nancy had  a very nice story for them.

Craft for the children to make after the lesson.

Awwwww.

One of the creatures at SS.

Helping hands working on the craft.
Julie took my camera and took a photo of me - I guess it is my turn to be in this blog too, eh.

Alexander graduated from grade 12 a couple of weeks ago.  Here is just a little gift for him from us.

The tassel is worth the hassle.
Beverly lead the upstairs class and Dave and Lori had the lessons in the other two classes.

So thankful for willing, helpful people.

Thanks for being the greeter, Alexander.  It is so nice to have you at OCC.

Sure do appreciate everyone sharing their comments during the Bible study time.
Oh, and happy birthday to you, Doug.

After Praise Time  Jason had a very interesting story that we watched together for the Children's story time.

A little girl sharing her dramatic story telling skills about Jonah.

Then the children collected the children's offering and came back to their seats for the sermon.

Energetic helper.

It is so great to have the children involved at church time.

Randy had scripture and prayer.

Beverly Hanes shared the sermon and it was excellent.  Thank you, Bev.

Lunch time is a welcome time and we enjoyed picnic food eating it in the fellowship room or down by the pond.

Eating and playing by the pond.  What a great addition the gazebo is.

A time to sit and eat and visit is important too.

Glad we have this unique area by the pond at our church.

It is really park like.

Thank you to the person or people who brings the flower arrangement each week.  I look forward to seeing what it will be each time I enter the church.

Come and worship with us next Sabbath.  We would love to have you at OCC

May 7th 2016

Thanks for providing us with a photo for this weekend when I was not here.
Kevin was the speaker for the church service and I wish I could have heard it.

Thank you, Kevin.

Sabbath, May 28th 2016

I was not able to stay at OCC for church as the Adventurer Club was having the service at Rutland church, but I had a couple of helpers to share some photos with me.

Thank you both so much.

It was so wonderful to have Jackie and her son, Peter play special music for us.  Hope they will have it another time too.

Ken came from Vernon to talk for the sermon time.
Thank you so much, Ken.

Little Mr Ryder is peeking at Beverly!

Sabbath - June 18th at OCC

Rina had a very nice and different Father's Day program for our SS.  We learned about several different Father's in the Bible.

Even the visitors volunteered.

It was a picnic in a bag.

Using the field glasses to spot birds over the pond.

Bubbles in the parking lot.

The children learned about walruses.
Making bats.

Doug is a good helper too.
Brookelyn reading a story about otters.  She is an excellent helper.

Children's song

Pastor Brad Thorp sharing about his latest drive across the USA and how he got his Bible back.

Brad is saying kind things about our Pastor.
Listening to the kind words spoken about her and her husband.   We just love this couple.

Kandus came up and told us about the work in Ukraine and what was just accomplished at the meetings she attended in Kiev for  Hope Channel Ukraine.

Kandus is telling some things from Ukraine that Brad has not heard yet and his so happy about.

He was very happy to hear these things.

It is so nice to have the trombones playing along with the piano and organ.

Leading us in the closing hymn.
We sure do appreciate our little pond each Sabbath.

Group from Rutland SDA Church who went to China this spring.  (PC: Bethany Folkenberg)
Come out for Sabbath School at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow to hear Bob Rogers ( and maybe this two teens) share about their time in China.

I am very thankful that Bob is willing to come to talk to us and hope we will have a nice group there to hear him speak.

Prayer Request

Please pray for the Christison family. They have been told

that their daughter Bronwyn's cancer has returned.

They are on their way to Vancouver, so that Bronwyn can be

attended to and treated at the hospital there.

Please let us unite in prayer for this young child of God.

Mr Christison teaches at the Salmon Arm SDA school.

Bronwyn and her mum told her story at Rutland Church

vespers a year or two ago.

Here are a couple of photos of the family.

Thank you for continuing your prayers for Derek Page also.

Derek will be moving back to Loma Linda Medical Center

and they pray

he does not spike a fever during the transition.

The nodes in Derek's neck and the mass in left side of his

face continue to grow at this time.

Vince and Heather really want all of our prayers as they face

 this difficult time.

Our God is an amazing God.

We are His children.  Let's never forget just how much He

loves each one of us.

Thank you for your prayers for these children and their

families.
