God's Nature - shown through Glendq's camera

Prayer Circle and Thank You

Pat spent quite a few days in the hospital over the last couple of weeks. She was so thankful for the many friends from church that came up to see visit. They brought a little bit of sunshine to her. She would really like it if you would remember to pray for her as she heals and gets stronger again.

Mentes' brought her a roll of lifesavers. How fitting!

Pat is back home and even went to vespers on Sabbath evening. What a lady she is, eh?
What a talented couple. They have so many bowling trophies and Pat published a book of poems she wrote.

Here is a poem from the book.
Spring
Once again it's spring
the snow has melted and gone away
bring chirping birds of colours gay
flowers blooming from their beds
giving smells of perfume through their heads

Green grass springs all around
makes it more colour bound.
geese fly back to nest
once again home in the west.

Sabbath February 4th, 2012

More snow at church. It seems like it snows now each Friday and Sabbath. Good thing we have helpful people who come out and help clean the walks.

For Sabbath School Olga told about her life and why she so loves Jesus. It was good to hear.
Computer issues, but they did get it working in time
Our church joining together in songs of praise

Friendships - It is so good to be able to share concerns, prayer needs, good things that happened during the week, etc. together on Sabbath.
Glad to have him back after he had been away working... This week he had the scripture reading

A nice lunch with friends...
Then Don shows us the cards the school children made and gave him for fixing their counter tops in their classroom
So creative and cute
In the evening our social committee invited us to meet in the fellowship room and share popcorn and other goodies and watch "Dolphin Tale" together.

Missions for the first quarter of 2012

Watch this video and see how helping immigrants can do so much for Jesus. Pastor Dan Jackson is seen and heard in this video story.

Take a few minutes to look at some of the resources we have for the children at Adventist Mission Children's Magazine. So interesting and good to see. There are also some activities to do, too. Check it out.

This coming Sabbath we will enjoy the January Spot Light on Missions. Since Alison and Jonathan are over in South Korea, it makes me excited to see this area and hear about the needs there.

Hope to see you for Sabbath School at Orchard City SDA Church on Garner Road and Hwy 33 this Sabbath morning at 9:15 a.m.

Sabbath January 28th, 2012

On the way to Orchard City Church from one direction
The snowy trees along the way
Our parking lot... where is the plow?

Come join us for a happy time in Kids Korner.
It is a busy, happy place, with songs and stories and lots of people.

Upstairs the adults have an excellent story shared by a couple in their 90's. We call it the Angel Story.
This lovely couple came to our church and shared their story of how an angel (he said that she was beautiful and tall and there was so much light it lit the whole room at night) came to help when they were in need.
They shared a couple of songs during the song service upstairs
A big mike for a little girl
Doing his part well
Singing " Our God is So Big, So Strong and So Mighty"
Don telling the story about the dogs who ripped up a box full of books
Such beautiful music from these two
A lively, joyful song service with a children's song and a children's story come before the special music and sermon. We all enjoy seeing the children and hearing them sing.

Then we are ready for some to stay for a pot luck meal  and some to start shovelling again and helping get cars out of the parking lot.
On the tables for the meal - at least it is spring inside
What a helpful person

Then on the way home from church we see a coyote.

Sabbath January 21st, 2012

The Kids Korner is a lively place these days. A new program has started and there is much to see and do. Have a look at these photos and see for yourselves.

For the church service the children's song and story are always looked forward to.

We had a guest violinist come to share his music and then Bob W had the sermon. He asked another visitor to help with his illustration.

And when we left there was snow all around.
