Front Porch Friends - 5

So thankful for these friends.

So willing to have me come by for a short chat and a few photos.

Rudy is part of this family.
Wonderful SS leader for OCC kids...

Encourager of young people.

Take part in church activities... enjoys a simple fun time with Bob and friends.

After sending her two little boys to VBS, Loretta has helped with the event for years and years... a faithful worker to share Jesus with kids.
Kids SS by the pond
Alison was being promoted to the next SS class and Loretta was involved in SS back that many years.

Carol S. had an idea in mind to have a community pie event. Bob was one of the happy pie eaters and enjoyed the fellowship.

Some of the pies for the social gathering.

And back to Bob and Loretta at their own front door.
Such a wonderful couple and have been involved with OCC for so many years... just love them both.
Their yard is a pleasure to see with the flowers and birds adoring their landscape...

It was a fun visit.

Front Porch Friends - 4

Jerrie Lou is quite the lady and friend to have!!!

She is of good cheer and ready to help out. She is capable of so many things too.

I sure miss seeing her and Bob at church and at our wonderful fellowship meals too.

I did see her at her home and she was keeping good distance!!

These times, eh. Stay 6 feet away!! Use sanitizer!! She is ready with her big big smile. (And this is just for fun.)
Waving so long... she had been busy sewing masks and just gave some to someone who came to get them.
Bob is the hiker and fisherman and goes out as much as he can.
If you have not seen or read his book have a look.
Such an interesting life these two have had.

Very interesting text and photos through out this book.

Stuffy for the children to find on their daily walks.

Brown, crusty loaves of fresh bread on the counter.

Thread wall.

Jerrie Lou with her new creation she is working on right now.  So bright and pretty.  Bob was out on the water while I was here this time.

Jerrie Lou with two quilts she was working on when Bob took this photo of her in her sewing room.  ( PC:BW)

What a great couple and such interesting stories they can tell.

Front Porch Friends - 3

Alex and Gay by the bush person Gay created for people to see on their busy street.
So cute with their masks made by Kandus.

During this virus.

Safety first!!

All the hearts around and about Gay's place.

In the window as a way to say Thank you.

Teddy Bears for the children to find on their walks and hearts as a thank you.
Games on car window with the littles.

Gay's heart rock tree.

Gay at work - thank you for the work you do to keep others clean and neat.

Gay started a unique ministry - making prayer blankets.  It is quite the wonderful way to share His love and some warmth with people who are not feeling so great.

Worship time.

Gardening time.

The grandkids all masked and ready.

Alex on his day off... his way to unwind.

Grandpa fun times.

Alex makes these carvings in his spare time.
Gay's rocks... she finds heart rocks or flat rocks and paints them and sometimes shares them.  The big heart rock is from her dad to her, a very special rock.

The mask stands alone!!!

Such great friends... trying to think of people who are alone during this time and having an outdoor visit or a walk in the park... Thanks for the friendship and care you give.

Front Porch Friends - 2

Thank you all for taking on the challenge and having your photos taken on your front porch.  This time in history is memorable.

We are missing getting together at church each weekend and are enjoying the phone calls friends make to keep up with us.

Zoom church is helping some but getting to see and hear each other in person is still better.

These little visits were so welcome.

Pastor Jim and Joann W.  at home in front of their front door.

You might see one of these takes in the Messenger soon.   Wonder which one it will be!

Front Porch Friends - 1

Today we will begin our OCC Front Porch Photos.

Beverly was so quick and agreeable to have me come to her driveway and take a few quick photos of her and her quarantine family.

Beverly was just on her way to take these two friends for a walk.  Her driveway and yard was a wonderful place to social distance, take a few photos and have a short visit.

Lexi patiently waiting for her walk.

Their names:  Dark brown one is Bella and the brown/white one is Lexi.

Just sharing…  Lexi came here as ‘Dove’ – my grandson was indignant as “Grambo, she is NOT a bird!” so we had a naming contest – full name now? “Lexianna Love Dove”.   Bella arrived as ‘Browny’ she is now “Bella Rae Brown” – even her name tag says that.
Further trivia…  My cats came as Surfy and Sparky; they are now Murphy and Sadie Sue.

The gal at Baja Safe rescue names all the precious creatures and some of them have pretty bizarre names and generally get re-named.

Lexi and Bella are fortunate to be able to enjoy the house and grounds and Beverly's fine company.

Beverly shared a poem she wrote at church last Sabbath or I think it was at SS lesson time.
I asked if she would share it on here and graciously she did.

So glad to have Beverly at OCC.

MIss her big smile up front and her school announcements!!

On My Own
I tried to travel this world alone
God watched me from his Heavenly throne.
He did not try to intervene
But He knew things I had not seen.

I dealt with issues large and small
and sometimes on His name I’d call.
Then slowly realization came
I only had to call His name

And He would answer “Here I am,
I am He who created man
If you will simply trust in me,
            I’ll guide you to eternity.”

So now I seek Him every day
And find He’s never far away
With issues large and issues small
He knows the answers to them all.

There in His Scripture I have found
Some answers that were so profound,
From highest joy to deepest woe,
            For life’s temptations here below,

His word guides in a loving way
And gives me strength, shows me the way.
Instruction in all things I find,
He knows each heart He knows each mind.

Friend, do not battle this world alone,
Seek answers from His Heavenly throne
Then He will sooth your troubled heart
And give your day a brand new start.
