Sabbath January 18th/25

Such a wonderful Sabbath. 

The warmth was great and the people who came were ready to participate and worship. 

Prayer time - praying for our members who are ill and our friends who have wishes for prayer and that our church may be filled to overflowing with people, adults and children are some of our visits with God. 

He knows our needs, yes, He does but He wants us to talk to Him and tell Him our needs and wants. 

Following this it went right into the lesson for the week and such a great discussion ensued. 

Sharing is what this time is about... findings on what you studied in the week and what we can learn together. 

Leading right into that was the Mission Spotlight and then a couple of pieces by the musicians and Praise Time with the Currie Family. 

Beverly tried to do her job but she realized she was just not well.

It was great to sing different praise songs.

They make a very nice patnership in taking up the offering.

Dave took over for Beverly.  So nice of him.  Introducing Scripture and Prayer and the Special Music and Speaker for the service.

Kum sang, The Anchor Holds   ...so beaurifully done.

 

Thank you Kum for adding so much to OCC. 

Our Speaker was Kevin Mc Carty.  He really speaks true words that resonate with the listeners and he speaks so you dont fall asleep.

 Alex is such a greatly artistic person who puts a lot of effort into the illustrations of the lesson on the white board. That might stick in a person's mind for just when they need it most. 

Thank you Alex for sharing your ideas and taking the time to study the lesson so you can lead the discussion. 

Before the lesson started we gathered together for prayer time at 9:30 to 9:50 a.m.

This is a time to join in praying for our church and the members and for our church to be filled with many people.  Please come in an quietly add your prayer or listen as others pray. 

The bulletin has lovely fitting pictures and it is nice to see them. 

Thank you for the bulletin secretaries as they do their work. 

Little J enjoys the time with other people at church. 

So nice for everyone to get to know each other better. 

Karen was the elder in charge this past Sabbath.  

Bonnie had a really nice talk about the plans for the Health Committee this coming year and it will be nice to join in these events.

Beverly was the song leader or Praise Team leader and got a couple others to join her in singing. 

The song she chooses are interesting and follow a great theme. 

Thank you Beverly for the music.

A couple of weeks ago... craft. 

 I asked each child if I could take a picture of their little bags they were packing.  Many wanted to share their work with you.

A warmer kind of winter so far. 

Then came fellowship lunch which many people seemed to really enjoy. 

A pick me up on each table to start or end with. 

Feed spiritually and physically.
