Sabbath at OCC December 17 2016

It was a Sabbath of people helping people out.  For some reason a lot of people did not make it today and so others did their parts for them.

We enjoyed everything about our church service and SS so thank you to all who helped out.

A new quarter is coming up and this will be our study guide.

The birthday boy today... Happy Birthday and many more good years ahead.

Always ready to serve.

Adding a little gift bag to the tree for giving to some special place.  Remember this offering will be until the last Sabbath in December.

Paul told us the scripture text and waited for us all to find it before reading it.
Telling a story about her grandson that worked well with the sermon too.  Thank you for sharing.
Listening to the story so nicely.

Jesus Made the Sunshine, Sunshine, Sunshine... and the snowflakes too.  Thank you for helping us out, Danielle.

So good to have them at OCC today!! They are little rays of sunshine we just sang about.
Gifts on the tree.

Beautiful singing from Danielle.  The request was for her to sing, Little Drummer Boy.  Thanks so much for sharing.

It is fun to capture the pretty singing on the phone...

Yes, it is...

Alex shared a wonderful sermon and it was one I will remember.

We are heirs of His and will wear a crown one day.  Alex wore one today.

Listening to Alex preach.  Learning all the time.
Next Sabbath is the Christmas program.  Come and enjoy.

So nice to be greeting with the lovely winter decor.  Thank you to the people who set the scene for us.

Lori ready to begin the Sabbath School portion of the morning.

Doug leads us in a discussion about Job.

Our Pastor's Bible is filled with colour.
Lovely winter flowers.

One of our greetings give a high five!!

Paul the story teller for the day.

Remember the special offering taken in the service time each week of December.

If you want unique gifts have a look at this catalogue - from ADRA- you can give someone a brick or a cow or various things to make their lives improved.

Bob and Don sing a duet for our church service.  Thank you both.

One of the devotionals you can order from Jerrie Lou.

Another one you can order for daily reading in the new year.

This week there was a little action poem the children had for their up front time in Praise Time.  Thanks for leading it Heidi.

Taking time to share with others.

Our Pastor kneeling to pray before he begins the sermon.

The singing team for Sunshine Bands in the afternoon.

So nice to hear him play a hymn.

These two sang the hymn that Bob and Don did in the morning.

Making everyone smile.
Snowy days are here for a time.  Enjoy the fresh, cleanness of this season.

Orchard City SDA Church November 19th 2016

It was so nice to have Rina at Sabbath School again and she was our superintendent this week.
She brought us some Challah bread she had made and talked about the Sabbath and how special it is.
We were reminded to make Sabbath the most special day of the week and to think and plan for it all week long.

Thank you, Rina.

Part of our before Sabbath School Praise Team.  It is so nice to come to church and hear such splendid music from the trombones, piano, organ and voices.  Thank you very much for sharing your music.

The Challah bread - it looks good and inviting.

A cover for the Challah bread and a special sparkling grape juice and candles in holders make for a lovely start to the Sabbath on Friday evening.

Praise leader this Sabbath is Bob.  He picked a great song for the children's song and we all enjoy doing the actions with the singing ~ "My God is so Great, so Strong and so Mighty"

Chorister helper with her cheery smile.
Our children's story was given by Jason this week and he had a really nice poem about Little Ruthie and the Big Dog ( bear who kept her warm in the dark night when she was lost).
Thank you for sharing this story in poem.

This beautiful little face snuggled close to her grampa during church today.

We are so thankful to have children in our church.  They are a very special part of our church family.

Keith brought us the sermon today and had many examples of people in the Bible that went through trials and pain but stood tall for God.  Keith was busy today as he had special music along with his wife, Heidi and also lead out it the closing song with his little daughter.   It is a pleasure to hear this family sing at Orchard City Church.

After church service chat.

Another bright spot of beauty brought to cheer our Sabbath by Loretta.

Another Baby Dedication!! November 12th 2016

The children enjoy Kid's Corner and I am so thankful for the leaders we have that attend to them each and every Sabbath morning.

So good to have a big sturdy tree.

Reflection on the pond.

Baby dedication for this little one.

She was so peaceful and quiet while Pastor Jim held her for the dedicatory prayer.  Before that he played his guitar and sang a special song for the family.

The family we are so happy to have attend OCC.

A card, flowers and certificate for the little one.  We thank God for children in our church.
Lovely Remembrance Day bouquet.  So meaningful as well and pretty.

After fellowship lunch at the church people went over the rest-home to enjoy Sunshine Bands together.  Pastor Jim played and sang "Mary Did You Know".  It was very nicely done.

Dave played a hymn and we enjoyed hearing it.
