Orchard City SDA Church November 19th 2016

It was so nice to have Rina at Sabbath School again and she was our superintendent this week.
She brought us some Challah bread she had made and talked about the Sabbath and how special it is.
We were reminded to make Sabbath the most special day of the week and to think and plan for it all week long.

Thank you, Rina.

Part of our before Sabbath School Praise Team.  It is so nice to come to church and hear such splendid music from the trombones, piano, organ and voices.  Thank you very much for sharing your music.

The Challah bread - it looks good and inviting.

A cover for the Challah bread and a special sparkling grape juice and candles in holders make for a lovely start to the Sabbath on Friday evening.

Praise leader this Sabbath is Bob.  He picked a great song for the children's song and we all enjoy doing the actions with the singing ~ "My God is so Great, so Strong and so Mighty"

Chorister helper with her cheery smile.
Our children's story was given by Jason this week and he had a really nice poem about Little Ruthie and the Big Dog ( bear who kept her warm in the dark night when she was lost).
Thank you for sharing this story in poem.

This beautiful little face snuggled close to her grampa during church today.

We are so thankful to have children in our church.  They are a very special part of our church family.

Keith brought us the sermon today and had many examples of people in the Bible that went through trials and pain but stood tall for God.  Keith was busy today as he had special music along with his wife, Heidi and also lead out it the closing song with his little daughter.   It is a pleasure to hear this family sing at Orchard City Church.

After church service chat.

Another bright spot of beauty brought to cheer our Sabbath by Loretta.

Another Baby Dedication!! November 12th 2016

The children enjoy Kid's Corner and I am so thankful for the leaders we have that attend to them each and every Sabbath morning.

So good to have a big sturdy tree.

Reflection on the pond.

Baby dedication for this little one.

She was so peaceful and quiet while Pastor Jim held her for the dedicatory prayer.  Before that he played his guitar and sang a special song for the family.

The family we are so happy to have attend OCC.

A card, flowers and certificate for the little one.  We thank God for children in our church.
Lovely Remembrance Day bouquet.  So meaningful as well and pretty.

After fellowship lunch at the church people went over the rest-home to enjoy Sunshine Bands together.  Pastor Jim played and sang "Mary Did You Know".  It was very nicely done.

Dave played a hymn and we enjoyed hearing it.

Baby Dedication Sabbath with Pastor Kevin

We enjoyed the meetings by Pastor Kevin Wilfley so much on Thursday and Friday evenings.

Sabbath School and church were very interesting with lots of people helping do various things.

Gay M had a good story about a King who realised that God was bigger then him and his power on earth.

Doyle helped explain about different types of nails and what each one was used for.  Thanks Walter Wecker for supplying so many kinds of nails from your collection.
Roofing nails, finishing nails, concrete nails, nail gun nails, trim nails, and more.
God has a place and purpose for each one of us that no one else can fill.
Just like the disciples were different and each one had their special spot so do we.

Myrna was so kind to have the scripture and prayer after just being asked after she arrived at church.
Thank you also to everyone who comes out in time for Sabbath School as it is our time to learn about Missions and sharing in the lesson study time.

Thank you, Dave E for leading the lesson time upstairs and Lori for leading the class downstairs.
Lesson study time

Dawna lead in the singing praise time and the children did enjoy their special song,  "This Little Light of Mine".
She has two lights to shine!! So fun to watch the children be involved in worship.

Pastor Kevin had the sermon but before he shared that with us he had a special dedication for his new baby granddaughter, Raina.
It was so nice to have Raina's two sets of grandparents here along with her mummy and daddy and big sister.
Praying for little baby Raina and her family

with Grandma Wilfley
Pastor Wilfley's sermon was excellent as he weaves in meaningful stories with the Bible principles he is sharing with us.

After the sermon it was time for lunch and we enjoyed a great meal of several different types of soup along with some salads and breads.

At 2 p.m. it was time for the last meeting of the series and after a nice praise time with Denise, Todd, Joel and Keith Pastor Kevin had a Q and A time in which many people asked him questions or even a request for more music.

So nice that she came up to help lead in this song.  What a lovely voice she has.

Friday evening meeting November 2016

Welcome Pastor Kevin Wilfley.
A seminar started on Thursday night at OCC.

Pastor Kevin Wilfley is the speaker and he had another presentation Friday evening.

Keith and his band led out in a very nice song service and we enjoyed the choruses.

it is great to have this father/son/ mother team with us playing guitar, djembe and piano.

Keith on the guitar and vocals and Denise playing piano and singing.

A jar of good things!! Add a slip of paper each time you experience something good in your life.  Open it a year later and read all of the slips! Smile.

Gay shares about her ways to think about and remember the good things that happen... she keeps a journal, and has the jar of slips and a book of

Such colourful fish in the Kid's Corner!!
