the 15th of September...

This Sabbath at OCC it started with Sabbath School.  Vicki and Paul read stories about a person who appreciated the prayers their mother's prayed for them and how it changed their lives.
One was James Dobson senior and another was J Hudson Taylor and the last one was Aurelius Augustine.  Look them up if you want to read about their lives.

Lesson was led by Roland and he always has such interesting points to make from his study during the week.

Start of the 11 0'clock service.

Song Leader who got everyone to sing Happy Birthday to all the September birthday people and there were a lot of them.

The children as well as the adults enjoyed Dave's story about how the angles guided the horses hooves to go across the cattle guard with out mishap.  These boys were helpful to make a replica cattle guard.

He read the scripture for the morning.  So nice he could do this for his father's sermon.

A fun visitor to church.

Joel playing his part in the special music for the morning.  Sure do appreciate him and his music.

Another Joel had the sermon and it was powerful but simple.  He talked about the guards at Arlington Cemetery and all the many points they are inspected on once they finally are accepted as part of the honour guard.  We just need to accept the gift God gives us to be part of His team and share His love. The angels stories were an added bonus.  Thank you, Joel.

Enka reading a Bible verse during the sermon.

Someone came to help Uncle Bob with the offering.

Italian prunes for the taking.  Thank you, Dave.  They were delicious.

Almost autumn colours around.

Calm waters invite the ducks.

September 8th Already...

We had a very interesting Sabbath School led by Tammy M.  She showed slides of Canadian Geese and brought up many interesting points about their behaviour and way of living together in a group.
Then she brought the thoughts forward of how we can work as a good team.

Thank you so much for taking this SS and sharing about the Canadian Geese.

Study time with Alex as group leader.
Pastor Jim was practising his song for special music between SS and Church.

Let's all take up the challenge to memorize Bible verses each week.

Thank you Pastor Jim for all you do for our church and church family.
Please remember Pastor Jim and his health needs at this time.

Center Pieces for the Fellowship Meal tables.

A tasty carob dessert... Thanks, Jolanta.
We enjoyed the group of people that came out for the Sunshine Bands at Mission Creek Crossing.  Bonnie played the piano so it was nice to sing with the piano music. Thank you, Bonnie.

Paul and Beverly led the singing and everyone seemed to enjoy having the chance to sing hymns together.

We all need a friend or two.

Apple season is looking good.
