Sabbath, March 18th 2017

Liza interviewed Roland for Sabbath School this Sabbath and we found out what volunteers like Roland and Gerry and Jim do when they go to the soup kitchen.

Roland  with Liza asking him questions about the Soup Kitchen volunteer work.

Jerrie Lou had the children's story and shared about eagles.

So nice that Don had help from this young man.  He did such a great job of the scripture text reading.

Tulips are great.  I think a lot of us agree.
Kids Corner story time.
So nice to have two violinists playing along with the trombonists.

Emily brings such lovely reflective music for us to enjoy during our church service.
Dave with our speaker for the morning, Ken Mather.  His talk was so easy to follow and remember.  Thank you, Ken.

Roses from Victor and Randy in remembering Victor's sister, Sylvia.  It was her birthday on the 21st of March.
We will remember Sylvia in love as does her family.

Today at OCC

Dave led out in a SS discussion about where we are and where we would like to be.

Many people took part in it and we learned we want to share more and understand others more and be thankful for the church family we have.

The children had interesting Sabbath School classes.

Learning by seeing and drawing slices of God's creatures.

It was very fascinating for the children to see through the microscopes.

Bible story time.

This young man took his place at the piano today and we enjoyed hearing his music and singing to it.  Thank you so much.

Singing the children's song... we all enjoy the actions.

Jerrie Lou introduced us to Reggie for the children's story.  What a cute little one she is.

Thank you very much for coming to OCC and singing for our special music.  We enjoyed it.

Our speaker today.  Thank you Randy for the message.   Many notes were taken and Bible verses written down.

Gifts - how do you choice what you would like if given the option?

The biggest box, the small pretty silver envelope, the shiny paper wrapping or the sturdy gift bag that you can reuse, could be some of the options to choose from.

A gift is not a payment for services, or something expected as a right.  But spiritual gifts do come with expectations.

"All His biddings are enablings." Christ's Object Lessons, p. 333

Gifts of from God are given to us without us choosing them.  We use them for Him out of love.

She is sharing a story from Poland for the Mission Emphasis.  Thank you so much.

So much snow is gone... so much more to go.

They seem to really enjoy the Bible story in felt figures.  They get to help put them on the board and share in the story telling.

Thank you, Leaders, for teaching the children.

Bright colours and pretty design.

They all look so nice.
Part of the Children's Story.  Thank you, Paul.

Bob sang such a beautiful song for special music.  Nancy accompanied him beautifully too.

Looks like a well loved Bible our Pastor uses.

He is telling us about the best vacation villa - time share of all.

Babies make us all smile.

Special Music Visitors

It was an active place on Sabbath, February 11th.

The kids corner rooms were full as children came to SS and then stayed to be part of the special music for the day.

Here are some pictures of what took place.

Beautiful puppets are part of the younger children's SS as stories are told and songs are sung about the interesting creatures God created.

Bookmark made in the older kids corner SS.

Welcoming the visitors.

The lovely flowers and table settings for the fellowship meal after the service.

Thank you, Gay, for making the tables so pretty.

The chime choir director and her little girl before the service.   Thank you so much for coming to OCC and bringing your students to make such lovely music.

Some of the students from OKAA playing Ode to Joy.

Getting this special music on video.

Pastor A Robertson greets us before he begins his talk for this morning.
