Front Porch Friends - 13

Another friend...

Gay stopped by to take a few photos of the photoperson... thank you.

Specially coloured sunset.
A little different direction.
DQ and I wanted to have a breakfast one Sabbath and so with help from Dave E and maybe a few others
we had a very nice breakfast time and also a little home warming time for Karenda.
Brothers both sit on Don's knee... Don was so happy for the friendship of these little boys.
Just in February 2018... seems so short a time ago and also so long ago.
Almost all of our lively crew... Jonathan made it a short time later. How I love this family.
How important you are for them too. Thank you for all the prayers.

Thanks for inviting me to your front door or yard.
When I return we might add a few more.

Thanks for all the care.

Front Porch Friends - 12

I went for a little drive on a nice rainy day which turned sunny.

Jill was waiting for me and it was really nice to visit with her.
She lives in Vernon now but it would be so nice to have Jill at OCC again.

She has such interesting things happening where she lives and her family has expanded by two girls and two boy grandchildren.

Here is the way we were able to have a Front Porch visit and photo.

Hi Jill!! Your smile is radiant!
Jill sat inside the window with it open and she talked through the screen.
The sign says to chat and blow kisses... no kisses to be on the safe side but it was a nice arrangement.
The chair was to be far enough back and at an angle to the window.

See the beautiful blue sky!!! The rain is gone. The building is a bustling place but sounded like a happy place.
Thanks so very much for saying you would be part of our Front Porch series.
It was great to see you and visit!
Added bonus on the way home.
Two week old goosey.

Front Porch Friends - 11

It was so nice to see two more people from OCC.

They happened to be at Pastor Bob's home as Gordie was helping to install grab bars for them.
Sonya was along and so a few photos were taken.

Nice to see friends again.

Pastor Bob -- always a good friend. Gordie helping his good friend.

Front Porch Friends - 10

Their "Front Porch" on this bit of a cool day in May was in the living room right where Myrna sat.
Of course, Pastor Bob got a phone call and he chatted as he walked around the room.
Myrna's big cheery smile warms up a room.
Pastor Bob showing me the photo he got just at the right time, perfectly framed for him, of this blue heron.
His clarinet is ready for him to practice.
His blue plastic trombone is waiting for him to pick up and play in his office.
Back in the day...
The couple with the blue convertible Mercedes...
Son Gary walking to the log cabin they built at Williams Lake.

This came with the note "Handsome Dude..."
And this one labelled "Beauty Queen."
The old Pathfinder bus at the old Campgrounds at Hope.
Singing Evangelist

I am so thankful Pastor Bob shared these with us.
What an interesting and varied ministry these two have enjoyed.
I remember them at Harmon Lake Youth Camp...
He remembers the horse program.
Then there is the youth camp at the place it is located now.
Vancouver radio programs and Radiant Living.

I knew Pastor Bob and Myrna when I was going to college at SMC along with my good friend and roommate, Trudy.  We were invited out to Little Creek Academy for weekends to our OKA teacher's place where she was teaching then. Since we were good friends of Mike, Ellen and Loren it was always fun to spend the weekend at Little Creek. Pastor Bob and Myrna were working there too and we enjoyed Sabbath lunch and story time with them. Our teacher and Myrna were sisters so it was a great fellowship time.

Good to think back and also be thankful for the present.

Front Porch Friends - 9

Doug and Bonnie have been friends of ours at OCC since Michael was a little small boy and Julie was a little bigger.

Now they live with their great friend Mo and enjoy their back yard and garden on nice days.

The Franks Family at their front steps. Always welcoming.

Fun spot in their back yard.

While the family at their home is a little smaller with Julie married now to Jeff and living in Oregon
and Michael living and working in Washington, Mo is still home to keep Bonnie and Doug on the move.
Mo with her toy.
Their garden in doors at this point when I was there.
Bonnie enjoys puzzles and this one was on the table - all complete.

OCC has been the place this family has been members of for many years.

They have helped and led cooking classes, Family Fun Day, worked with AV and greeter, fellowship meal team and SSS plus personal ministries.

What helpful, willing and ready people on our team.

Sorry, I was going to put in more photos from church activities but something does not seem to work on this post.

Front Porch Friends - 8

So did you all know how many of our front porch friends enjoy their pets at home?

These pets seems like really nice dogs mostly but this family also has a cat named Missy!! Dog is Nugget.

Being very careful not to get any virus.
Don't think pup and kit like the masks too much.
The fam...
Liza tries once more to keep these pets safe!!!
Doug let the kitty go and got out his other pet in the family... Sony with a nice long lens!! Hey, what is he taking a photo of?
Ask Doug to show you some of his shots.
Doug is an avid photographer and has lovely wonderful nature photos on his walls from his shoots.
Remember when Alexander was just a young boy!!?? I sure do miss him at OCC but I message with him at times and it is nice to hear from him. He is in Montreal and said it is still all shut down at this time.
Doug sharing a nature story for the children along with his fishing pole.
Doug's friend find today at the park... Sweetie the Swallow.
Sweetie is a beautiful bird.
And Doug is a friend to the birds and animals too. Thanks for sharing these fresh photo, Doug.
Then at my request, Doug sent me a few of his amazing bird photos for you to see.

Now we know that Liza has many skills too and at church she shares her talents for taking SS or looking after the older children's SS program, or helps in the kitchen and brings her famous mango pudding or other goodies to be devoured.

Liza involved in praying for others.
Only one family member missing but wonderful ones in the photo too...
Liza part of the team in the kitchen that day...
Liza enjoying the fun of Women's Retreat with friends.
Helping serve dessert at the evening cooking class at OCC.

Check out the link if you want to see more of Doug's fine photos.
