On Sunday afternoon people started filling the lower level of Orchard City Church.
Bonnie started the class by introducing herself and each person attending.
It was a good mix of men and women around the tables.
At first Bonnie asked questions and Doug responded.
Several health conditions were explained and expanded on such as insulin resistance and diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease and inflammation.
People asked questions as there was time for.
The first demostration was how to make a creamy ranch dressing using aquafaba or the liquid from canned beans.
Then Liza showed how to make a vegan Ceasar dressing.
These were in small sample containers to go one to a person to try with the supper meal.
After the food was set out on the tables people could line up to go through the to be served food.
It sure did look and smell good.
Bean enchiladas along with corn salsa and toppings for the salads and Ceasar salad filled the tables.
The desserts were lemon chai pudding and date/peanut butter with dark chocolate and a version of turtles 🐢...
It was a very tasty affair.
Soon after it was time to head home but people lingered to chat.
Just in case people did not have enough to eat there was delicious watermelon to end with. Not only was the class informative and interesting followed by the delicious meal but it gave people a much needed time to visit with each other...a very important part of our lives.
Thank you to all leaders, speakers, demostrators, servers and dish washers.
A very special evening.
