Sabbath November 1st 2025

 Welcome to Orchard City Church.

Our prayer time to start off our Sabbath Services is to thank the Lord for all His care for us. We have so much to be thankful for.

Then we pray for our church to be full of people seeking His will and way.

It is really special to hear the prayers of others. A great privilege to meet with people praying together.

Join us as you can.

Lesson study is next and no matter what the topic is the people gathered have good insights to share and we learn more each study time.

It is great that our Praise Time people are right ready after Mission Spotlight to start the music participation part.

It is so interesting to hear and see the stories of what thec13th Sabbath offering has done or built from 2021 or previously. Our offerings are gifts to God for His kindness and care to us.

Bonnie was playing the piano as we entered the sanctuary first thing and again after Sabbath School ended.

Elder of the Morning.
Song leader.

Bonnie shared an excellent Health Nugget about Trust in God.
It is as much a part of our health as is our food intake or exercise.

Trust...
Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Relax and trust.
Prov 14:30
Not just what we eat but what eats us.
Resentment fear anger... it is our choice.
Choice
Worry or worship
Panic or praise
It is your choice.

Children s song enjoyed by all.
My God is So Great So Strong and so Mighty.

Childrens story and offering are the next part and then the regular offering.
Giving at church or giving  online are part of healthy living too.
Giving lets us be ready to receive.
We give in thanks and gratitude of all God has done for us in our lives.

Doug the Story Man telling us about bridges and connection.

Speaker of the Morning...Herb Larsen Junior

All the way from Abbotsford...Here is family and brings family with him.  His father and his wife and brother...then family who go to  OCC regularly.
Such a warm time to listen this imaginative minded man speak about Whippets and Greyhounds and Border Collies then share stories from his personal life he calls Devine appointments and weave in many Bible texts that tells us what we are created to do in this life. What makes us feel happiest and most fulfilled...doing what is in our DNA...share Jesus and helping them give their hearts to Him.

Some verses he used:
2nd Corinthians 5:20
Luke 10:1-3
Acts 13:47
John 1:8
John 11:11
Matthew 24:14

A white vehicle row.

A very interesting and motivating service.
Thank you all for being there.

Baby Shower at OCC

We were thrilled to be able to attend a baby shower at Orchard City Church on Sunday! afternoon.

Jody planned a pretty and fun shower for new baby P.

Decorations started at the door.
Some of Jody's helpers.
Great bunch of ladies.
BABY decorations sure looked great.
Since mummy lives animals...this background was perfect.
What a great gift.
It seemed like everyone was excited to shop for gifts for this tiny baby girl.

The food everyone brought look delicious.

A couple of games were played... they were simple but fun.
Price is Right involved 3 people called up by "Jonny" aka Denise.
They were shown a baby item then wrote their guess on paper and the closest  guess without going  over was the winner either keeping their gift or sharing with the new little one.

The second game was called Pass the Present.
A little pair of shoes were in the package that went from person to person  by what was said.
Someone with smallest feet...someone with longest hair then on to the one married the longest and Mommy s  newest friend.

Thistle star if the party.

Visiting and gift opening were fun too.

We need a baby shower more often as smiles and chatting were all over the room.

Sarha came to OCC as a little baby and small child along with her parents and big brother.

Jody's was caregiver for little Sarha and Jody shared what their favourite snack would be.

Jody was very thankful for her mum and sister to help her and a few good friends to pull off such a nice party.
Thank you Jody.

So glad Joy shared some of her photos from the party too.
Here are hers to see.
