Concert at OCC

Last evening we were treated to a great violin concert at Orchard City Church.

Hayden Wiseman is on tour of Canadian cities, along with his wife, Paula and also a friend of theirs.

The church had almost every place taken by older people to an almost 2 year old. All were fully enjoying the music.

Hayden played a few songs then asked everyone to listen and think which was our favourite.

That was a hard assignment as so many were played so interestingly.

One song was a duet with Hayden playing violin and Paula playing flute 🪈.

The very last hymn was beautifully played by Hayden and the friend playing her oboe.

A beautiful  sunset on the way to the concert.

Just the right purse ...
The talented oboe player.

Some people asked Hayden to keep playing more near the end of the concert.

Oh, when he asked for our favourites these were some I heard being said.

1. Wonderful Words of Life

2.  Blessings

3.  Oceans

4.  El Shaddai

5.  These are the Days of Elijah

6.  Nearer My God to Thee

Some of these were said more then once or twice.

Thank you for the beautiful  music.

Sabbath at OCC August 30th

 Happy Sabbath.

A lovely Sabbath.

Prayer Time and Lesson time was followed by Mission Spotlight.

Aase shared that the Dr and his wife  in the story were family friends in Norway.

Praise Time came right after and had our long time friends involved in it...Heidi and Keith W and their two daughters.

Joel, Denise, Vicki, Aase, Todd, and Erin  were also part of the group.

Welcome Home     All over the world they experienced this feeling of Welcome Home.

He enjoys having a little music time.

OCC on Sabbath August 23rd

It is always good to walk into church at Orchard City SDA church.

The blue water of the pond and green around it sits so well behind the little church.

Prayer Time started with a few paragraphs from Steps to Christ page 95.

It is in the Chapter The Privilege of Prayer.

Our prayers are many:

For you

For our children and larger families

For the people grieving

For the hurting and sick

For our finances

For our friends we used to see at church but don't now

For our minds to be calm and clear

For our private time for devotions

Sabbath School lesson was on the Ten Commandments and it is so good to know they are a gift for us from our Loving Father.

In the lesson time we took a short time to each find someone we didn't know too much and find out a few facts about.

Getting to know others is a way towards friendship  and it is fun to share our love of Jesus with our friends.

The commandments remind us that we show our love ❤️ by respecting God and also those around us.

The Kellerman Family plus Erinn had the Praise time with lovely songs 🎵.

Soon it was time for Pastor Jose to ask Tracy to come forward and go through the questions before her baptism.

We were all so happy Tracy was able to be baptized this Sabbath morning.

Annoucements...for up coming meetings.
