Third Sabbath in February Already...

Lori wanted to have this special Sabbath School program about how a church is also a family. She had people read some passages and then some people shared experiences and then we watched a short video to go along with the song  Family of God.

All through the week let's remember that we are family. Family needs contact. Family needs prayer.

Trying to leave for church... more snow!!!
So glad she is a willing participant.

PLAY SLIDESHOW

Praise Time was nice with Olga leading out.
She had two willing helpers for church Praise Time.

Children's Song and Children's Story is always enjoyed by all ( even the ones who might not like to come up to the front right now and that is OK)
Wide, Wide As the Ocean, High as the Heaven Above...

A little skinny pig was the visitor for Children's Story.

Thank you, Jason for sharing your new pet with us.
He knows just what to do and waits patiently for the offering to be taken out and given in the basket.
Sure did appreciate Ernie's special music songs and Bonnie's playing the piano with him.
He has heart and soul and puts it all into what he does.

Enjoying This Day - February 10th

Bonnie had the SS time this weekend and she talked about Personal Ministries.

Walter read this text.

Dave read one... and

Arnie also shared one... some others did too.

Bonnie gave us ideas for prayer walking and later she gave us routes or roads to walk on.
Alex lead the upstairs lesson time.  The Marks of a Steward.
Have a peek in the Primary SS room.  This bright wall hanging is eye catching.  The children looked engaged and glad to have a room for their SS.

Do you remember what hymn we were singing?  It was such a nice one we sang it again!! Beverly and Don seem to be enjoying leading the Praise Time.

What was the children's story about this week?  I think he might remember.

Part of the Children's song before the sermon begins.
Doug tells the story to the children and the adults.

Alex is Elder of the Month and introduced the speaker for the morning.

Pastor Justice begins the sermon on a parable in Christ Object Lessons.

The beautifully set fellowship lunch tables.  Thanks ladies.

Food to share with friends.
Someone worked hard on their craft.

Sabbath of January 27th 2018

When we walked into the church this morning the white tablecloth reminded us it was time for the Lord's Supper during church service.

Sabbath School came first and we were reminded to Keep Our Eyes on Jesus with the opening hymn of #290 Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.  Dave had our opening prayer and then came the welcome/theme...

Our new teacher at the academy for grades 3 and 4, Karenda Swain, wrote the answers to the question, " What games do you play using a ball".
Welcome to OCC, Karenda.  It is great to have you here.

Thanks, Karenda.
The idea in all of these sports is to keep your eye on the ball.  It is like that in our lives too.  We need to keep our eyes on Jesus all day, every day.
The story was shared about Peter asking to walk to meet Jesus on the water.  He was fine and walking well until he thought about himself or others and forgot to keep his eyes focused on Jesus.

Dave L had the lesson discussion and and Lori lead it downstairs for the other classroom.  Children were in the older Kid's Corner and in the younger Kid's Corner too.

The " Come to the Farm" Theme

Gerry had the children's story and used coloured spots on his had to explain about stains.  We can remove some of the stains from our hands but not all and not the ones on our hearts... that is a job for Jesus and He does wash us clean.

That little black nose came from making sheep masks at SS.

So lovely to see Diane and Eldon share the piano seat.  We sure do enjoy the lovely music Diane creates for us many Sabbaths.  So thankful for the fine example of Diane and Eldon in their dedication to being at church each week and being on time.

So nice to hear the trombone music each week.

Team work for Praise Time

Using the hymnal has many benefits.  Love this duo.

Yes, Beverly does have an announcement to make about OCS!!

Our Pastor

We sang a hymn and closed the service.
