Sabbath, April 19th, 2014 at Orchard City SDA Church
It was good to be back at "home" in our little church this Sabbath.
Beverly was back "home" too and some others also were back from travels.
Some were off visiting family and friends for the long weekend and we missed them.
Liza L. had a really interesting Sabbath School sharing her research into the reasons why Easter is a changing date. Thank you, Liza.
We had a combined lesson study class upstairs this week as it was the third Sabbath of the month and Roland was the leader for that.
He really studies deeply and his way of facilitating the study is so welcome.
A lot of people shared Bible texts or their view on Christ and Religious Tradition.
Our program contained several very interesting songs and readings, and it ended with a short sermon by our Pastor.
It was an excellent Sabbath.
Oh, yes... and a lovely meal to enjoy also.
Here are the photos to go along with this Sabbath.
The children's song was "Oh, How I Love Jesus" with the adults singing the verse and the children taking over for the chorus.

The Pastor tells the children a story about goldfish.

Pat shared a new original poem about the moon and the stars.
Bob and Heidi had the children come up to share their special song. Each child had a large or small eagle puppet and waited until Heidi sang the verse to come in on the chorus. The eagles were raised up on their wings.

So much fun to have little ones in church each week!
A sweet little addition for this day.
Karen and Christine singing an inspiring song.
Bob sang a very beautiful song. It was truly lovely.
Sharon told a short story about her mother before she sang... the tears started with the lovely story and continued with the moving song choice she made... "My Lord, What a Morning." Thank you so much, Sharon.
The Folded Linen Napkin - a very meaningful reading by Ruby.
Donovan, Meghann and Lori had a very interesting voice choir. They each said one word in turn but said it very expressively. The words told the Bible story of the last while Jesus was here on earth. How much He loved and still loves us.
Watch the video below to hear the voice choir.
The Pastor shared a story in his short sermon and really brought God's love for us, close to our hearts before we sang "Because He Lives" to close the service.
The front of the church made special for this day by some creative person or people. Very nicely done.
Each week the flowers are a treat to find.
They add so much to each time we meet together.
Sweet thank you from Sarah and Kevin. Their little girl is precious.
Congrats also to her grandparents, Mikey and Pat O'Neill.
This picture is on our bulletin board. These three ladies ran the kitchen at the VBS program we had at the school over Spring Break They prepared the snacks to match the Bible story of the day. (Original photo taken by Melissa R.)
If you have shoes you would like to share, remember to bring them to church and put them in this box.
After the Easter service, we moved downstairs to the fellowship room for a meal together.
Some of the lovely table decorations for the fellowship meal.
What a beautiful day comes through with the pictures, Glenda!
