Sabbath of Love ~ February 13th, 2016

Orchard City SDA Church was full of people as we started our Sabbath School time.

Lori S. welcomed each one and opened our meeting together with prayer.
She chose the hymn "Blest Be the Tie that Binds" to sing together.
Then she had a few thoughts about love and friendship and led us into a sharing time for our friend, Sylvia.

It was so wonderful to have Sylvia in church with us and many people talked about how she has meant a lot to them personally and also how we have appreciated her work in our church.

It was a very emotional and special time.

Sylvia's friend sharing her thoughts.
Another great friend has her turn to share.
Smiles and tears are all part of the morning.
Sylvia took the mic and thanked us and told us what was on her heart, too.

We stood and held hands and sang "Family" together.

Downstairs in the Older Kid's Corner, some children were enjoying sharing cookies with their friends in the Younger Kid's Corner. Cherri G. and her crew of Lorah and a friend and Brooklyn and her friend decorated the cookies before taking them over. Check in next week to see what will happen next in the Older Kid's Corner. Might be something springy!!

We had a wonderful guest speaker to enjoy for our church service. Pastor Robertson and his wife joined us and we enjoyed having them.

Rina made the bright bulletin and Lori passed out the cards.
Making sure they all know what they are doing.
Pastor Robertson told us that you can never win a game if you are playing with Sylvia.

After the service we enjoyed a delicious fellowship meal and then hurried off to Sunshine Bands.

Gay did such a beautiful job of the decorations.

Lovely array of food.
Prayer for beginning of our meal.
Dessert table.
Spider Mum pretties.

  1. So nice to see what's going on at Orchard City. It sounds like it was an emotional Sabbath, but it's so special to share times like this to let others know how we feel about them. My thoughts are with Sylvia through this difficult time.
