Baby Shower at OCC

We were thrilled to be able to attend a baby shower at Orchard City Church on Sunday! afternoon.

Jody planned a pretty and fun shower for new baby P.

Decorations started at the door.
Some of Jody's helpers.
Great bunch of ladies.
BABY decorations sure looked great.
Since mummy lives animals...this background was perfect.
What a great gift.
It seemed like everyone was excited to shop for gifts for this tiny baby girl.

The food everyone brought look delicious.

A couple of games were played... they were simple but fun.
Price is Right involved 3 people called up by "Jonny" aka Denise.
They were shown a baby item then wrote their guess on paper and the closest  guess without going  over was the winner either keeping their gift or sharing with the new little one.

The second game was called Pass the Present.
A little pair of shoes were in the package that went from person to person  by what was said.
Someone with smallest feet...someone with longest hair then on to the one married the longest and Mommy s  newest friend.

Thistle star if the party.

Visiting and gift opening were fun too.

We need a baby shower more often as smiles and chatting were all over the room.

Sarha came to OCC as a little baby and small child along with her parents and big brother.

Jody's was caregiver for little Sarha and Jody shared what their favourite snack would be.

Jody was very thankful for her mum and sister to help her and a few good friends to pull off such a nice party.
Thank you Jody.

So glad Joy shared some of her photos from the party too.
Here are hers to see.

A Memorial for Maria Maier

Sabbath afternoon at 12:45 Colby M officiated at a memorial for his precious grandma.

Pastor Jim Weir had a prayer near the beginning  of the service.

Maria was 94 and had a very interesting life.

In the tender words Colby spoke it came through how much she enjoyed gardening and flowers as well as cooking and baking for her family which was a daughter  and three sons.

Her granddaughter sang two songs...Hallelujah  and Ediweiss.

Son Fred shared the families memories and told interesting stories about their mum.

George played two very interesting and lively piano pieces one which he composed and played often for his mother as she enjoyed hearing it so much.

Paul the youngest son created a very nice photo presentation with music showing her with her flower gardens and with her husband and other family members.

Colby spoke just before the photos were shown and it was evident how much the family lived and cared for their mother and grandmother and sister.

Each person has such a beautiful story of their life well lived. Colby told of how much his Omi loved her Saviour and was committed to meeting in Heaven.

Closing with her favourite hymn we sang together...I Come to The Garden and listened to a closing prayer.
