Church on July 13, 2013

Sylvia B. agreed to arrange the Sabbath School program for this Sabbath and it was delightful. She invited two ladies to share a personal story about a time when they knew God answered their prayer.

First was Melanie with such a heart warming story to share.

It really helps the rest the listeners to have stronger faith when we share stories like this. Thank you, Melanie.

Next was Donna.  Her story was a very different setting then Melanie's but the results were the same. God cares about each little or big thing that happens to us. He loves us.

Donna at left during VBS week.

After the stories, Sylvia had five people stand where they were and read Bible promises. She then talked a little more to tell us about the song we were to hear next, and it was beautiful in words and photos. Thank you for the very encouraging program.

"Your Anchor Holds" is the song we listened to. Here is the Story Behind the song and then the song sung by the composer. It is different then the Ray Boltz version, but it is tender and full of God's care.

Praise Time was brought to the church family by the VBS children singing some of their songs from the last week. They sure did enjoy those songs and really sang out.

Thank you, Melanie for leading out and waiting for your trip south.
Our Leader/Pastor. He helped with VBS all week, and then was ready for Communion Service after the Praise Time.

Thank you, Tyler Quiring for taking pictures for me of OCC Praise Time this week.

A Little Peek at OCC VBS - July 8-12, 2013

This year's VBS at OCC was so fun and vibrant! We enjoyed a great mix of kids and adults participating and helping out. We had 45 kids registered and every day we had 30- 40 or more show up. What a great group for our church!

Here is just a small preview of last week's VBS. Enjoy this sneak peek of pictures and videos of the kids singing some of the VBS songs!

July 6th, 2013 ~ Happy Sabbath

We were blessed with a beautiful day this Sabbath! It is always wonderful to meet together to praise God in song, Bible study and prayer.

Here are some photos to see church service at OCC this past Sabbath. Sabbath School and lesson study were good to attend and we are glad so many come out for it. The lesson about Revival and Reformation was excellent. Thank you to all the facilitators for a job well done.

Thinking especially of Edith as she is recovering at home from her illness. We want to make sure you feel part of our worship time.

Guess who?

Shannon plays her flute so beautifully. It was delightful to hear "How Great Thou Art."
Vince Augustine from Salmon Arm had our service. His testimony was inspiring.

Vince shared his testimony in a kind and gentle way. It was good to hear him relate the story of  how his cousin encouraged him to listen to a sermon on tape he had. It was a sermon by Herb Larson, Junior, a relative to several people in our church.

Here are a few points I jotted down as Vince spoke. Hope you understand them as they might not be full thoughts like he said.

- "What I learned from all of this - I need Jesus - and you need Him too.

- Read Ezekiel 36:25 and onward - about a new heart.

- "Give your heart to Jesus every day. Without Jesus live is meaningless."

- "I started reading the Bible for ME. Not to prove anything and not to show I was right."

- "If you move an inch closer to God, you have a testimony to share with others." Herb Larson quoted by Vince Augustine

- "I decided to wake up with a smile on my face each day."

- Bible verses to look up and read - Matthew 12:12 & Matthew 6:23

Thank you so much for coming to our church, Vince!

Tyler first met Vince in Borneo on a mission trip with UCA

Thank you, Carol, for bringing the sweet sweet peas to church this week
