Last Sabbath in April

Dave had the interesting children's story.

They are growing up and can now sing a duet.  How nice it is when children are willing to take part in the church service.

Pastor Josue having the sermon.

Thank you Beverly for getting some moments in photos of this Sabbath while I was away.
It helps us to all connect and see what is happening.
Thank you to all who share photos with our blog.

Fellowship Meal Sabbath April 13th

Vicki lead the Sabbath School time and she showed a video of her daughter, Danielle singing a very meaningful song.  Then she had this jar of carnations for any one to come up and take a flower to give to someone who they have appreciated.  It was a very nice SS time.

David ended up with two of the carnations.  We do appreciate him at OCC.

We enjoyed the OCS senior choir having three songs to share during the service time.
They did excellent.

Tammy shared the children's story.

She was eager to collect the offering.

Pastor Jacob Hebert had our service and then following the fellowship meal he had one more meeting.

A small portion of our tasty and abundant meal.

Meet Nana Gerber ( Cherri ) and her little granddaughter Ayleigh.  What joy it is to bring your little one to Sabbath School and church.  Welcome baby.

Getting Together on Sabbath April 6th 2019

It was good to be together as a church family and friends on Sabbath.
We encourage each other and listen to each other and care about the needs and joys we have.

This week it was good to have some children help with the Sabbath School.

Liza made wonderful empanadas from South America to share with each one and cookies were made too from the Children's Mission Quarterly from last quarter - lemon cookies from Botswana.

Hopefully everyone got some of the treats and enjoyed them.

Helpful girls ready to hand out the treats for a taste of Mission for 1st quarter from Africa and 2nd quarter from South America.   Thank you to Liza who made the empanadas and helped the girls get the treats ready for you.

Vegan Cheese recipe

Bonnie and Doug are the Health Ministries team for OCC.

They are starting a new idea that is to share recipes for us to try and to enjoy.
Here is the first one.
Let us know if you try it and if you liked it.
Send photos in too for posting on here.
This will be fun and yummy.

Bonnie telling us about this new idea.
She also shared a bulletin insert for us this past weekend to make healthy choices.

I would like to share with you the most amazing cheese like sauce I have ever tasted.  This recipe
is very versatile and can be used on baked potatoes, lasagna, quesadillas, macaroni and cheeze, pizza, nachos or any cheeze dish you like.

It is very simple and uses ingredients you have in your home.

Enjoy!
Bonnie

Vegan Cheese
Ingredients
2 C. potatoes, diced large
1 C. carrots, diced large
1/2 C. water
1/3 C. olive oil
2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. lemon juice (fresh is best!)
1/2 C. nutritional yeast flakes
1/4 tsp. onion powder (opt.)
1/4 tsp. garlic powder (opt.)
dash of cayenne (opt.)
1/2 tsp. McKay's chicken-style seasoning, vegan (opt.)

Instructions
Boil the potatoes and carrots until soft.
Blend potatoes and carrots together along with the rest of the ingredients on high in blender until the cheese is extremely smooth. I use my high-powered VitaMix blender.
Store in refrigerator for up to a week.

Notes
This cheese will melt just like real cheese! If it sets up a little in your fridge, just microwave it for about 30 seconds—it will soften up again so it’s easy to spread.
