Talent Show from Children

What an interesting and fun evening it was last Sunday at Kelowna Church.

Lots of people showed up to support the club.

Parents cooked the amazing food and if it ran out they made more.

Children greeted us at the door with cheerful smiles and dressed in their countries clothing.

Next was the line up to pay for your food of choice.  There was a good list of multi cultural foods.

After paying a ticket was given for each item paid for and then it was just going to that table to pick up your prepared food.

Oh it all smelled so good.

Tables seemed full but there was room for all.

Rice

Pancit and egg roll.

Pea patties.

Ukrainian perogies with onion.

Romanian fruit crepe.

Then the little fashion show was done by the children wearing clothing from their ethnic backgrounds.

One great part was this Guyanese trio with Hector and two friends. Pretty nice.

Next came a nice talent  show by the Adventurer children and a few adults.

It was from 5 till 7 pm and it seemed like everyone left happy and content. 

They were raising funds for a camp cook tent and at the end we were told there was over $2000 raised but it was not totally counted yet.

A evening  well attended aandenough money raised.

Womens Retreat at Banff October 3 to 5 2025

When invited to Banff and it is for a Women's Retreat... it is lovely.

Come along with me.

Drive from Fairmont to Banff is just beautiful.  

The retreat was held at Banff Center.

Such a beautiful  but busy place up on a mountainside.

After settling in our rooms there was supper and then the first meeting.

The speakers for the weekend were excellent.

This group of ladies had the Praise times and they were fun and lively songs.

Not too many seemed shy to do the actions.

She is from Toronto area but now is teaching at Oakwood University  in Alabama 

The theme was Climb the Mountains

This speaker was talkingnon womens mental health. She really made a good impact and had a few private counselling session for free.

The coordinator Pastor Sandra Deer.

This lovely lady used to teach at Burman University. This retreat God gave her the vision to have a large room turn into a prayer room. It was so lovely with lots of creative ways to pray. The last meeting all of our special prayers were in this locked box to go home with her for burning. The prayers were between the writer and God.

Such a beautiful place to meet together.
