Prayer Request

A couple of blog posts ago a blog was shared from a family in Tchad.

The woman Dr.  Danae Netteburg is in the USA.  The father Dr Olen Netteburg is in Tchad with his four children.

He noticed their family pet cat was acting strangely and put it in a area for him to be able to watch for possible rabies.

Here is the fb post from Danae the other day.

Please pray for Lyol and Addison. They were scratched really badly by our cat on Thursday, probably bitten. Olen is observing the cat for rabies because she is acting crazy.
I have gotten really nervous about this today as Olen and I were talking today. We have decided to give them the rabies vaccine and hopefully he can find the immunoglobulin. And hopefully he can find the vaccine too tomorrow.
Google says you have up to 6 days to give these meds to try to prevent rabies. Early is obviously better. Don't google rabies. It's bad.
Update Sunday evening:
Spent ALL day trying to arrange this. As did Olen. Was at my review course and didn't hear one lecture today (because frankly that doesn't matter compared to this).
Had a friend Joshua Knowles who was on hold up to very recently to fly 5 vials of meds from Kenya in the morning to ndj. He just didn't have a visa so we weren't sure it would work. Actually he may still think he's flying since he's sleeping.
Olen Netteburgs been on the phone/email with our medivac Insurance all day as well. Hopefully he's sleeping now so he can drive on the morning. The earliest they could get them injected would be Tuesday (a little disappointing honestly).
And then finally Olen found friends in Koza who said they have it. And then found it closer in Marua. A friend is planned to bring the needed meds to them in the morning. Olen will leave very early in the morning with Lyol and Addison to meet our friend, Ndilbe Middai part way.
Praying it all works and the earlier the better. Pray for Ndilbe on his early trip that the police and road conditions are okay for his 6 hour trip.
And Many thanks for the prayers and people who have offered their contacts. Contacts are everything in Africa. Thanks to Carin Morse Van Gelder who put us in contact early with an amazing rabies ID specialist!! We appreciate it all!!
Now I'm off to drive home to DC. But I feel better knowing we have a plan. Plans are not foolproof, but at least it's something. I miss my kids. : (
Update Sunday morning:
So Olen thinks he has found 5 doses of the vaccine but the guy doesn't open till tomorrow. And no immunoglobulin in the country. So...working on suppliers. Maybe get some from Cameroon by Tuesday.

This was today's post.
The cat died.
Please remember this family in your prayers.  Thank you.

Today:

Danae Netteburg Immunoglobulin given!! Both kids
