June 29th, 2013 - A rainy start to the Sabbath...but a warm ending

The evening part of our Sabbath. To see the worship service, click here.

Some of us got together with the seven young people who had been staying at our church for the past two weeks and visiting homes in our church area. It was nice to get to know them all better and have fun roasting hot dogs...a new thing for some of them.

We laughed, ate, talked, and sang together. We shared our thoughts and thanks and prayers. It was a lovely ending to the Sabbath.

Daryl - the leader
Lorkens Colin and Gordon. Lorkens shared his first sermon in English on Sabbath morning.
Shonette - shared her testimony for Sabbath School
Larisa - shared her testimony for Sabbath School and also took one day of the lesson to study with us
Dian - shared about her week and also sang a beautiful song
Benyamin - came later in the week, but was a nice addition to the group. He is keeping me up-to-date from FB messages.
Irina and her new found friend, Sonya. I do not think she had ever roasted hot dogs before. I think she really liked them.

We enjoyed spending time with our visitors, and Bonnie and Sylvia really planned a nice evening of food, worship and activities.

The following photos are from the day at church. If you have some photos to share send them and we can add them for all to see and enjoy.

Roasting them
Making them perfectly
Paul enjoys his hot dog in a bun
Little Mo wants her share
Doug moved in right when I took the picture...hahaha. No harm was done.
After the hot dog roast we enjoyed a worship time together.
What good sports to do all the actions for "If You're Black or If You White or If You are In-between"
Bob leading the actions for the song... "God Loves You"
Mr. W. and son joined us from the Kelowna church

Enjoying the last of the sunshine and warmth around Bob's little fire maker
Each person shared something they were thankful for that day
Daryl brought out the cards with all the requests on them... Pastor Bob had a special prayer for the people who filled out the cards, the workers who gathered the cards, and our church who will reach out to the people on the cards.
