Sabbath at Orchard City SDA church on December 6, 2014

Sabbath School time is always interesting to see what the leader has for us to see, hear and learn about.
This week Sylvia had a very nicely done presentation on David. Thank you for this, Sylvia.

So good to read and think about.
Sylvia doing her part.
Alex M. leads the lesson study in the class upstairs.
Alex L. is a faithful Sabbath School member. He helps in as many ways as he is asked.
Alex M. likes to use the white board and it makes it very interesting to see his illustrations.
Our pond is shared by other homes now too. Between SS and church they were clearing off the ice.
The little walk from the Sabbath School room back to the church for church service.
The new Women's Devotional book is out. Several people we know have a story in this book.
Cheery lights and bows.
Angela has the children's story this week.
So nice to have these little ones in our church this Sabbath.
The little money bags for the special offering in December.
Make sure to take one to use later on in the service.
K Fox had such a motivating sermon.
He entwined the story of Dan climbing Mount Everest with us helping others. While climbing the mountain, Dan met a man who was not wearing a coat, gloves or any of the warm things that are needed to survive. When he called for the man's name the man answered that he was Lincoln Hall. You can read some of the story here. Dan had to decide if he would help the man down the mountain and maybe survive, but abandon his plans for the climb, or if he would ignore the man and go on his way, doing his own plans. The story continued and we were encouraged to do something to help someone along the way -- help in a soup kitchen, take young people home and let them use our home for a good place to be with their friends, give something to someone in need. There are so many ways to help someone. It is exciting to get involved and do God's will.
Thank you, for your sermon about how to be a Second Miler. Bible verse Luke 9:24.

Someone whispered to me...'Now there's a picture.' Awww, so sweet!
For the children's song... "Oh, Children, Come Quickly"
Outside after church the neighbours were enjoying the cleared off ice. It made a pretty scene.
Don't forget the tree offering each Sabbath in December. There are small bags to put your money in and hang on the tree.
Bulletin board makeover. Thank you ladies for your time to make things look nice and neat.
