A Great Sabbath at OCC

Sabbath School to start with, a class inside and out.

It is the book of Mark we are studying and the lessons have been good. Ruby was there with her warmth and care, greeting at the door.

As God loves everyone is this whole world so should we... the theme of this lesson.

It is always great to have Kim in the Praise Team.
Each one adds to the beauty of the music.

The next parts of the service were all good and taken care of well.

Praise by Vicki, Kim, Denise  Joel, and Todd included To the River which some young people really liked.

Joel and Denise brought shakable instruments along for children s song and Christine enjoyed joining in on the tambourine.

Offering was taken up by the two girls and children s story was shared by Olga.

She told of one dog she got from the SPCA and how much that dog needed to learn.

She brought photo to pass around.

Adult offering was taken up and then

Jody had scripture and prayer.

Peter introduced his friend  from Youth Orchestra who plays the harp.

They played a bright piece by Debussy which was delightful to hear.

It was very interesting to have that large harp up front. Peter played expressively on the piano.

So thankful for them sharing their music with us.

After that the Pastor had prayer for Peter as he ( Peter) leaves for university this week.

Then we watched a short video from 3 local pastors about upcoming meetings this fall.

The Pastor trusting Todd to catching him falling backwards from the pew.

The book to read and for the next set of sermons, I think, is Freedoms Journey.

What is the meaning of Goodness?

Billy Graham got a speeding ticket while driving.  He needed to go to court.  The judge asked if Billy did wrong? Billy admitted he had and so was told to pay $10.  It was a large sum at that time and then the judge took out a 10 dollar bill and paid the fine for Billy.
It is grace.
We need God's saving grace all the time.
Paul used grace 100 times.
Grace found me when I did not deserve it.
He takes me and He changes me.
Romans 3:23 and 24.

What do you crave deeply?
Romans 8:38 and 39 says Nothing can separate you from the love of God.
How can we apply grace in our lives?
How can I apply it?
Forgiveness
Compassion
Kindness

Be graceful with others... all others.
Be patient with all others.

Family is so important.
We need each other so very much.

Story the Pastor told about Charles Spurgeon and Joseph Parker, both men with large churches.

Read the story here.

5 Ways to Share
1. Pray for the person
2. Take opportunities to care for them, walk with them, make food for them, or just talk with them.
3. Invite them to your home.
4. Pray for their needs.
5. Invest in these people.

Grace has a lot of power to change lives.

Come to OCC tomorrow at 9:30 to have a prayer time until lesson starts at 9:50.

Then on Sunday is Family Fun Day.
