Sabbath at OCC - October 12th 2013

Join in with us for Sabbath School and church on this Sabbath before the official Thanksgiving Day.
We enjoy sharing it with you.

Autumn leaf on our parking lot. There is beauty everywhere.
OCC in autumn.
Pretty edging to these leaves.
Doug F. looks after the PA faithfully. Sylvia B. has great PowerPoint photos for the service.
Pat P. shared a lovely poem with us.
Warm clothing to share.
Puppies make us thankful, right?
Finishing her craft hat.
He did a good job of his craft hat.
Craft in the making.
These two plus one more (great-grama to the little one in this photo) decorated all the tables with such pretty leaves, gourds, and berries.
Beautifully set tables.
Ladies working together to make a great meal.
Fall flower arrangement -- Thank you, Carol.
I understand that several people were making the church fellowship room and sanctuary all pretty and ready for Sabbath.
So wonderful to see all four generations of this family here this Sabbath.
It was so good to have Sharon at OCC this morning and hear her sing the special music. I heard that two small children went to her right after she sang to let her know they enjoyed it!! How sweet and what good examples they are to all of us.
For health and life and daily food we praise Thy name oh Lord... (a song sung as a round)
He is thankful and shared it with the church family.
Each one told what they were thankful for... so nice for them to take a part in the Thanksgiving Day service. Thanks teachers Loretta and Naomi.
She is thankful for Coco... you might think it is the hot variety in a cup to drink but actually Coco (I was told) is her kitty cat.
Listening to the Pastor share the story of Squanto.
He held the children's interest in telling the story.
Sharing time after church.
We all appreciate a kind hug from a friend.
Finger- licking good food.
Thanksgiving meal... in the fellowship hall.
Beverly and Olga smiling widely after just returning from a trip to The Holy Land!
We will hear their stories one Sabbath soon.
This little one made friends of so many this Sabbath.
Clean up... well done ladies. Thank you.

In the afternoon some members put on our monthly program at Sutherland Hills Rest Home. We enjoy visiting with those who live there and come to the program.

These three sounded good together as they lead the hymn singing.
Ben has only been here a week and a half. They both enjoyed the program and she told me she really enjoyed the Friday night vespers, too.
Sylvia shared a story from Italy and the photo to go with it.
Pat shared her poem with the people at Sutherland Hills and Carol planned and lead out in the program.
Tina plays for the singing time...
Ken and Ruthie hand out little scrolls with cheerful greetings on them.
She really liked her little scrolls with the happy notes inside.
Reg and Pat meet a friend who was visiting her mum.
Pastor and Mrs. Tetz visit with this sweet 98 year old. She had interesting stories to tell.
We will be back next month to share some songs, stories and friendly visiting.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

  1. Beautiful and included many fine parts of a lovely day. Everyone had so many things to be thankful for, the one I heard a lot said "Family", not just our personal families but also extended families.
Thank you for the beautiful pictures.
